Solution

Water is pumped from the Murray River into a lagoon, pre-treatment via 130 mic screen filter (M100 Filtomat series). Then water is pumped to the Amiad Water treatment plant which consist of, primary Multi-Media filter followed by coagulation, Multi-Media Filter, Cartridge filter, UV, Granular Activated Carbon, Chlorination. The water is then stored in a clean water storage tank. Each media vessel backwash with the filtered water from the clean water storage tank using backwash pump. Backwash is initiated by time, pressure differential across the system or manually. The Plant was provided with a PLC and HMI screen and designed to provide fully automatic operation.
Results
The water treatment plant delivers treated water that complies and in certain cases exceed the Australian drinking water guidelines.
